Our original shop was first opened in Seattle, Washington in 1992. Years later, the founder partnered with his sister and a longtime family friend to bring Miso Teriyaki to Tenafly. Together, they combined their experience, passion, and dedication to perfecting the menu and creating the flavors that Miso is known for today. Specializing in west coast style teriyaki, we make all our marinades and sauces in house from scratch. Although we opened March of 2020 when Covid first hit, we are incredibly grateful to our loyal customers and community that allowed us to stay open till now!

Miso is a traditional Japanese seasoning paste made by fermenting soybeans with salt, koji (a fungus), and sometimes rice or barley - BUT it also means “Smile” in Korean.
